Recruitment – Publicity Manager

The Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) is a non-statutory advisory committee which has been set up since 1990. It aims at promoting public awareness of environmental issues and encouraging the public to contribute actively towards a better environment.

Application is now invited by the ECC Secretariat for the following post - Publicity Manager (PM)
(Salary: $55,705 per month; 15% gratuity of the total salary upon satisfactory completion of the contract.)

Job Requirements: Candidates appointed must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Candidates should have

(a) a bachelor's degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent;
(b) attained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: ‘Grade C’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);
(c) at least 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably with experience of managerial / executive positions in the field of publicity, communications, public relations, online marketing, event management, or environmental education;
(d) proficiency in common business applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), good knowledge in social media platforms and photo and video editing software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Windows Movie Maker)
(e) strong organisational, co-ordination, interpersonal, project planning and management, and analytical power, with excellent command of oral and written English and Chinese.

Duties of PM:

(a) To develop a comprehensive environmental education, promotion and publicity plan, and organise and monitor implementation of various publicity projects and campaigns with a view to promoting environmental awareness and prevailing environment related policy initiatives to the general public.
(b) To identify collaboration opportunities and to work with various government departments, green groups, non-government organisations and other relevant parties with a view to inducing the adoption of low-carbon living by the community at large and enhancing and conserving Hong Kong’s environment.
(c) To co-ordinate and monitor the effective use of various communication platforms, including both traditional and online platforms (i.e. website, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) in disseminating information related to ECC projects and related campaigns to maximise the possible outreach.
(d) To assist in the establishment of the Environment and Conservation Fund Beneficiary Club and the planning, execution and monitoring of club activities, as well as conducting regular reviews to enhance its effective operation.
(e) To supervise a team of supporting staff responsible for publicity projects and campaigns.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will normally be employed on contract terms for a period of one year. Renewal of contract will be subject to operational needs and satisfactory performance of candidates.
