The Stage 5 of "Reduce & Recycle 2.0" Campaign promoted food waste recycling to echo the theme "Food Minimalism". Through diversified online promotions, the messages of food wise and food waste separation were disseminated to members of the public.
Three Steps of "Food Minimalism":
In mid-October 2022, a one-minute campaign video and a 30-second cut down version for TV Announcements in the Public Interest (APIs), were launched to raise public awareness of reducing and properly managing food waste.
The "Clean Your Plate" Social Media Challenge was launched from 14 November to 18 December 2022, to encourage public participation in food wise campaign. Over 330 participants posted photos of the plates they finished after meals on their Facebook and Instagram to demonstrate their support for reducing food waste and "Food Minimalism". Netizens were also invited to share creative ways to adopt food minimalism in daily life at Big Waster's page. The 30 most creative entries were rewarded with a Big Waster charm and a special tour to O · PARK1 accompanied by Big Waster in January 2023.
Over 35 corporates and 250 eateries supported the challenge by promoting the challenge on social media pages, displaying promotional materials at stores and encouraging their employees to join.
Two sets of stickers for social messaging apps were rolled out in late November 2022 to further disseminate food wise messages.
